Although Filipinos make up one of the largest Ethnic Groups in Canada, our food and culture are still unknown to many Canadians. And what better way to get to know us but through Max’s Restaurant!” Says Bill Rodgers, Managing Director of eMax and grandson of Max’s founder, Maximo Gimenez.

There are 410,700 Filipinos living in Canada according to 2006 Census. With an estimated 203,000 living in Ontario, 88,000 in British Columbia, 53,000 in Alberta, 38,000 in Manitoba and 24,000 in Quebec. The Philippines has become one of the largest sources of immigrants in Canada. Today, there are over 600,000 Filipinos in which majority residein major cities including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal.

“When Filipinos immigrate from the Philippines, they tend to have a need for a sense of belongingness.
